Re: Whelans interview at h...
i just think that he said wigan would never offer a club money to stay down and they have not offered any club this but he ducked the point when he saidhe hasnt heard the leagues ideas and its up to them i think he knows they may keep us up

lets not get too carried away. frankly the catalans were dour tonight. however, a win is a win and it was a very much needed one toojolleymax posted:

Who told you that rubbish? He tackled his heart out tonight and carried the ball well going forward. Whilst he may not be the most vocal of captains, as has been discussed many times before, he certainly leads by example.jolleymax posted:

Yeah for once i agree with Rob in the last few games he has been poor and despite one penalty early on for a high tackle, Lockers was good.robjoenz posted:Who told you that rubbish? I also think he had one of his better games.stevocod posted:Yeah for once i agree with Rob in the last few games he has been poor and despite one penalty early on for a high tackle, Lockers was good.robjoenz posted:Who told you that rubbish? He didn't let anyone down tonight.
Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending they're injured. Rugby League players spend 80 minutes pretending they're not.

He has given away a few too many penalties and made a few too many errors this season but overall his hard work has out weighed his frailties. I wish the rest of the team would tackle as solidly as him and try as hard with ball in hand. You cannot fault his commitment.

And has been said often enough "leading by example" is an apology from him not saying a dicky bird on the pitch.robjoenz posted:Who told you that rubbish? He certainly did set an example tonight but it would be better if he ralied the troops as well. It isn't too much to ask from a captain.
He is playing as a player, not a captain.
