Agree with you on this. There's times when our forwards will receive the ball standing still and we never make any yards from this, they just stop dead as you would expect when you get fully smacked by another forward running at you. We need to be running onto the ball more, not just our forwards either the whole team need to keep moving they're standing still far too much.mikeyt posted:
IMO our props are not making a ground or breaks is because our attack is so flat. fekka and logan should be in at second receiver to build up momentum before hitting the ball. if our forwards stood a little deeper and run onto the ball the breaks will come. use a flat attack near opponents line not our own half :with:
pack not big enough??

This has been one of the major problems for us this season. Without the forwards breaking through the defensive line and making some yards, the rest of the team is on the back foot.MrsLam posted:Agree with you on this. Now the saying is one man doesn't make a team, but Fielden is so important to us that I think he counts as two men, both in terms of the impact he makes when he's on the pitch, and the fact that he can play week in, week out for 80 minutes (does that make him count as four players? :doz: ).
He's obviously a top player, but I think it's more important for Wigan than just signing a world-class player, it's the position and role he will play for us that is key. I don't think there is any other single player in the world (arguably) that could make a bigger difference to the team than Fielden.
The effect of having him in the side should be emmense.
Or, am I over-estimating his impact - as he's only one man?

But on paper (or the screen), that pack looks pretty good - and big. Although saying that, it doesn't look 'that' bad without Fielden in it. But they haven't been producing the goods.
I hope he makes the difference I think he can.
