I also have a question for you Rob regarding the penalty given against McAvoy for offside that also resulted in an easy 2 points gifted to Wire. How could he be offside when he was the one who knocked on? This is a genuine question as I cannot understand how this decision was reached.
I can't recall it properly. Did he knock on and then re-gather it himself or did he knock it on and someone else ahead of him gathered it.

I can remember someone knocking it on and Tickle picking it up in an offside position and we were penalised. Is this the one you were thinking of?

Its funny about the last descision as the ref had the best view called it then bottled it when he was confronted by the Wire players. Touchy should have communicated it at first or flagged it (flagging it is just to get the refs attention nothing else) and he did neither as he was running down the main Wire stand and caved in to pressure too.
As I've posted many times the touch judge can only flag for foul play, not for technical offences.

In the amateur game the touch judge can only inform the referee of a decision if the referee asks his advice. I am not sure whether there is some such rule in SL so that the TJ doesn't tell the referee and be heard by the players who immediately react when the referee may allow an advantage.

Just last week people were saying referees don't take enough advice from their touch judges, this week because it happens against us everyone has changed their mind.

If the touch judge was right then we've nothing to complain about and according to GeoffN Tickle did come from offside.
