These are well paid professionals who need to be told and if Lockers cant do it then someone should.. That simple..lets see some fire from a proper captain

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

i've been supporting Wigan (then Warriors) for donkey's years and "Lockers" is the worst skipper we've ever had. How the hell he keeps his position is beyond me and has been for a few seasons. His play is hot and cold but his leadership is none existant regardless of anyones opinion.

The lad is a non entity as a captain , he as no gumption what so ever

Fielden would be a far better proposition

so come on Noble

for once in your life make a good decision ( or may be two decisions)

first one make Fielden captain

secondly _ sub mit your resignation
Wigan is and always will be a town of Cherry & White

Not sure if Fielden was captain at Bradford or not and to his credit he has a lot of experience both domestic and international but at Wigan he hasn't been playing well and he doesn't seem to be one of the more vocal players on the pitch.

So replacing O'Loughlin with Fielden might just be replacing one problem with the same problem. Some one who can't lead by example and isn't vocal enough. I could be wrong because I can only speculate on how good O'Loughlin or Fielden is as a captain.

One thing I noticed is when Danny Orr was at Wigan he did alot of the talking to players that O'Loughlin probably should have done but at the moment I haven't seen any players doing that O'Loughlin included.

Finally, people are agreeing with me.
i have been saying this for so long now, i got sick of hearing my own voice on the subject.

he isnt and never will be good enough to captain this great club.

i think i would go for Carmont, he's captained Samoa before and couldnt do any worse of a job.[/i]

Well, we tried 3 other captains last season, when Lockers was injured, and none of them did any better.

The problem's higher up than that.

It is time for Lockers to act like a captain tonight. We have just witnessed one of the worst performances on record from a Wigan team and now we as fans must look to him to stand up and be counted. Tonight he must act like a captain both in play and his verbal contribution. Whatever it takes he must lead by example play a solid game, encourage his team and let them know if things are going wrong.

Let’s see some fire from him, that’s what the fans want some passion, let’s see him raise his voice tonight.

If not time to change the captain….. No more of this pathetic performance from our team and no more not being a captain please.

We as fans now demand it!
When did you suddenly become the official spokesman of the fans??

Good point. Lockers was captain when we rallied away from relegation worries too, and i have always thought he does as good a job as would most out there. Whether he is the right guy to do it is open for debate though.

I think he was as good if not a better captain than having barrett as captain, who seemed to perform poorer when he had this responsibility than he did in the first season. And don't see anyone out their who could shoulder the responsibility any better now of captaining that team. When you look through the names only fielden, richards and bailey could have cases made for them but are their cases any stronger than the case for o'loughlin? I'd say no.

We do really lack a genuine leader out there. when lockers first got the job radders was still knocking about the dressing room occasionally and fletcher was there and newton was there. when we lost fletcher we lost a lot. And its got to be hard when we all compare the captain to farrell, who is one of the greatest leaders of a sportsteam i've ever seen and has qualities way beyond anyone in our current squad
