What I can’t understand is playing players out of position. A full back come centre on the wing when there’s wingers available, a second row at Centre and a second row at loose who’s ineffective, reminds me of Lams random picks and that’s not a good thing. Mago looks like he’s been buried in a box underground and fed nothing but water and ryvitas the last few weeks, out of shape badly. I reckon I could make more yards if I’d been buried underground for a month in those conditions! Shame because I was really hoping he would be our pack leader, 18 minutes he played, I’ve held my breath for longer. Thought the young forwards did really well though inc faz n field. Powell his usual ineffective self, another worry is Peet sticking with him week after week of nothingness. Having said all those negatives I’m not throwing in the towel yet, there’s plenty improvement in the side and I think we will do ok this season.

I agree - Field has played 6 in a superb Parra side, he can do the same for us. Cust is an excellent 9. I wonder if Partington could be a ball playing 13 after last night’s efforts. He will never be a front line prop, but his handling is pretty good.

Pathetic that like, really do hop he is gone at the end of the season

Ooo be careful what you say Meds.
You can’t a have a go about Powell’s ability , as you will be judged to be picking at his person.

I wouldn’t base the assumption he can play 6 on a regular basis on the fact he played 6 games there for Paramatter and was then released?

He hasn’t played more than 6 games in any of his 4 seasons in the NRL.

He’s already scored more tries (7) and accrued more points (34) from FB than he managed in the NRL over a 3 year period (4 tries / 30 points) in less than half the number appearances (SL 9 vs NRL18).

I think Field has nailed down the FB spot for now and the only way he’ll be dislodged is a loss of form or injury.

How French is slotted in is the dilemma for me.

Why move Field? He’s the best full back in SL by a stretch.

Didn’t Mago make 50-60m in his short cameo and had a 9m per carry average?

Because cust is an hooker who will quicken us up around the ruck and french is as good as field and in my opinion would work
