I don't get the"so tired" bit. They are professionals ,fit young men or supposed to be. If not that's as you imply the conditioning/ coaching. I've recently witnessed 3xweeks of the Tour de France the most gruelling sport there is The cyclists exhibit fitness, strength, determination etc If anyone of our players don't live upto these tenets They should be shown the door.
With professional RL players i dont think its so much tired, its more that their bodies are taking an absolute battering, and they need time to recover. Yes, there will be an element of tiredness comes into it, when we've played 4 times in 2 weeks, but if you arent getting over the bumps / bruises, then it will take its toll on you during games

the comparision with the Tour de France, isnt quite the same as they arent being battered by opposition players. I get what you are saying, but the fitness is different as its all aerobic / anaerobic (admittedly they overcome some crashes), so their recovery is also different to that of a professional RL player
Stick to watching the Tour de France then!

How you can compare the two sports is hilarious! You play for nigh on eighty minutes getting punched & see how you fare doing it three times in nine days!

We’ve played more games than any other team, have all the trophies yet you still complain. I was at that game, as every game, & the forwards were tired but still played better than expected.

I know we re all disappointed but get over it it’s a game not a matter of life & death!
That's OK Josie but Saturdays game is a different matter all together, Field to 6, Douglas to 2 and Miski to 3 with Forber on the subs bench is our best hope I think and I do know that means a lot of shuffling about after the likely suspensions coming our way later today.

The rest of the time our forwards are just battering away at their defences. Its not just the drives they are doing it’s the amount of tackling and big minutes Thompson and co are playing.

They are knackered and if we are not careful these guys are going to pick up serious injuries because of it.

The coaching team need to get their act together and fast. Farrell playing 3 games in 10 days, does not make sense. When you have Hill and Walters available.
so every set of 6 coming off our own line, we will see 3-4 backs taking the ball in or do you not count that. You can almost guarantee Miski, Marshall & Wardle every set of 6 take a drive in. Keighran not quite the same player as King last year, but he would have taken one in too

my summary of the game - 1st half we had enough ball possession and territory to have scored but we didnt. I think it was 2 (possibly 3) last tackle plays when 10m out from the line, we ended up with Faz getting tackled due to what appeared to be poor play / wrong option. Leeds made 1 break, and scored from it, and we forced plenty of dropped ball from them to have gone into ht in front

2nd half was different as we started to look jaded, the crowd got behind Leeds a bit and onto the refs back, and he started to listen to them. We didnt control the ball the same, and then tired defence let Leeds get on top, and they looked much fresher. It doesnt mean they are a better side, just met us on the right day coming off 4 games in 2 weeks. losing 2 players to yellow / red card doesnt help (albeit the red when the game was long gone), especially when we were backing up from mid-week and the heat on Saturday once the sun came out was sapping

was chatting to some Leeds fans in Headingley after the game, and they realised they never played the Wigan side they were expecting to, so happy to pick up the 2 points but still unsure whether they would be consistent enough to make the play offs

Also watched the Peet interview and he was very honest about errors, soft penalties, discipline and a general poor performance, the trouble is, he is having to do this type of interview more often.
He needs to get a grip of the team and instill some discipline and then come up with attacking options, because without Bevan we are totally lost and have been for weeks.
Agreed. We aren’t quite at the stage of “Well we trained well this week” but the mistakes and one dimensional play are clear to see. He needs to show he can deal with the loss of French.

Move Miski to a position he has never played before? That isn't a solution, especially when you consider how bad our defence has been that side.

I’m of the school of thought that Wigan pay a lot money running youth sides give them a go,yes it’s a big game but let’s be fair expectations will be lower than§ say Good Friday no get the kids in and see what happens it can’t be any worse.

Genuine question from the game on Saturday. Not sure at what time Matty made the change in the 1st half, but Hampshire went off, Eckersley on and Keighran into 6

did it work? i know the negative answer is no because we got beat, but genuinely, was there any improvement in either the way we moved the ball, defended where Hampshire was previously?

i've seen posters calling for Keighran at 6 for a couple of weeks and i'm unsure whether that is the answer or not - happy to be convinced either way

Hampshire got an arm injury. But given we got beat it’s hard to tell especially as Adam hasn’t played much at 6 for us.

Hoping for a surprise when the team is announced 😊
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
